Google Ads

Search, Performance Max, Display, Demand Gen, Video and Local campaigns built for operators who measure outcomes, one integrated Google Ads system.

What it is

We run the full Google Ads system as one account: Search, Performance Max, Display, Demand Gen, Video, Remarketing and Local campaigns. Every account is built on offline conversion data and dynamic call tracking, so bidding learns from booked jobs, not page views.

Most accounts we inherit have a measurement problem before a bidding problem, which is why Google Ads conversions stop reporting far more often than campaigns stop working. We run them from Scottsdale, for the Phoenix metro and nationwide.

Budget split

How Search, Performance Max and Demand Gen divide one budget.

Search buys the words a person typed.

Performance Max buys Search, Shopping, YouTube, Gmail, Discover and Display from one asset group. Demand Gen buys the feeds where nobody is searching yet. Same money, same person.

Left alone, Performance Max serves on brand terms and on queries Search already wins, and both campaigns report the same conversion. The fix is structure: brand in its own campaign, account-level negatives, and a scheduled sync, covered in our negative keyword script walkthrough.

Demand Gen is judged on whether branded search and direct traffic rise while it runs. Measured on last click, it always loses.

Bid signals

What offline conversion imports change about bidding.

Smart Bidding buys more of whatever you call a conversion.

Count every form fill and phone tap, and it buys the ones your team deletes on sight.

Offline conversion imports fix that. The click ID is stored with the lead in your CRM, and qualified, quoted or booked stages go back to Google Ads with the value attached.

Two conditions: the form has to keep the click ID, and uploads run weekly or daily, inside the conversion window. Long sales cycles import an earlier qualified stage instead.

Wasted spend

What a wasted-spend review actually looks for.

A rebuild is rarely the first move. A review works through a fixed list, all checkable in your own account:

  • ·Search terms for jobs you don't want: repair queries in an install account, DIY, job seekers, competitors you can't serve
  • ·Location set to “presence or interest”, which serves people who only read about your city
  • ·One lead counted twice, by a thank-you page and a form-submit event
  • ·Phone conversions with no minimum call length, so hang-ups count
  • ·Campaigns split too thin to ever leave learning
  • ·Performance Max with no brand exclusions
  • ·Auto-applied recommendations adding keywords nobody reviewed
Call data

Calls are the conversion in home services, so they get measured properly.

In home services, many real leads arrive as phone calls, and calls are where tracking breaks quietly.

Dynamic number insertion ties each call to the keyword or asset group that paid for it.

Call length then becomes a filter: short calls stop counting, recordings show whether anyone answered, and the missed-call rate becomes a number you can fix. Check what fires today with the free conversion tracking scan.

Cadence

What happens in the account every week.

Every week: search terms read and negatives applied, a creative and ad strength pass, disapprovals fixed the day they appear, and small target moves so bidding never resets into learning.

Reports answer three questions: what the money bought, what changed and why, and what is next. Seasonal accounts like roofing and pool service get budget moved ahead of demand, not after it.

FAQ

Questions about running Google Ads.

  • Usually yes, but only with guardrails. PMax will happily serve against your brand and your best Search terms if nothing stops it, which makes both campaigns look better than they are. We keep brand in its own campaign, apply account-level negatives, and watch the search terms and asset group reports weekly to confirm PMax is finding new demand rather than reselling traffic Search already had.
