We loaded 213 pest control websites: 76.5% had no conversion tracking. Why cost per lead misprices a trade built on recurring contracts.
A pest control customer is a subscription, not a job. The one-off treatment and the recurring quarterly contract arrive through the same form, look identical at the submit, and are worth entirely different amounts.
We loaded 213 pest control websites. 163 of them, 76.5%, had no conversion tracking of any kind. Of the 39 we confirmed were running ads, 16 of them, 41.0%, were advertising blind. The method is set out in our conversion tracking report.
For a recurring-revenue trade, that leaves two problems stacked on each other: many accounts cannot see leads at all, and the ones that can usually see only the first step.
Cost per lead treats every enquiry as equal. In pest control they are not. A single wasp-nest treatment and a quarterly general pest contract cost about the same to acquire and are worth very different amounts over a year, and an account bidding on cost per lead will buy more of whichever is cheaper.
Separating them needs values sent back to the ad platform once the office knows which kind of customer it signed. Importing that later status, rather than bidding on the raw form, is the difference described in offline conversion imports versus form-fill bidding. The same recurring-versus-one-off logic appears in LTV bidding for cleaning companies.
Search and Local Services Ads catch active infestations, when the homeowner wants someone this week. Google Ads campaigns can then be split by pest and by plan type so recurring keywords keep their own budget.
Meta Ads suit the prevention side - seasonal reminders and plan offers to homeowners who do not have a problem yet - where the creative sells the ongoing service rather than a one-time price.
If you want to see how we report results, read our case studies - platform-reported leads and closed business are shown separately. When you are ready, get in touch and we will start with a look at your current tracking.
Partner status isn't decoration. It means direct platform support, beta access, and a track record of spend performance - verified by Google and Meta.

We'll review your current Google and Meta accounts, pull spend and conversion data, and show you where the leaks are - before you commit to anything.
