Phoenix is the biggest market we scanned in the metro, and the one with the most money going into ads that nothing is measuring.
Phoenix gave us the largest city sample in the metro. We loaded 198 Phoenix business websites, and 128 of them, 64.6%, had no conversion tracking of any kind. We confirmed 52 of them were running ads. 13 of those 52, 25.0%, were advertising with nothing measuring the result - the highest blind-advertiser rate of the four metro cities we cut the data for.
These figures were read on 6 October 2026 from the same scans behind our conversion tracking report; they are a city cut of that book, not part of its published table.
Phoenix is the most competitive market in the metro. More businesses compete for the same searches, which tends to push click prices up, and a business that cannot see which clicks became jobs is paying those prices on guesswork. One in four confirmed advertisers in our Phoenix sample was doing exactly that.
The flip side is that Phoenix as a whole measures better than our overall sample: 64.6% against 70.1% across all 9,560 sites. The market is not failing. It is crowded, and in a crowded auction the businesses with working measurement can bid with confidence while the rest bid on hope.
We work from Scottsdale and serve Phoenix operators; we do not have a Phoenix office. In a market this competitive the first job is measurement, then structure: Google Ads split by service and intent so the expensive searches are bid on their own value, and Local Services Ads for the call-now demand that dominates home services here.
If you want to know which side of that 13-of-52 your own site sits on, our free conversion tracking audit loads your site the same way our scan does and shows which tags actually fire.
