We loaded 251 plumbing websites: 72.9% had no conversion tracking. Why speed, call handling and Local Services Ads decide plumbing jobs.
Plumbing demand is emergency-driven. The customer with water on the floor is not comparing three quotes; they are calling whoever answers. Speed and call handling decide the job, so the measurement has to live where the call happens.
We loaded 251 plumbing websites. 183 of them, 72.9%, had no conversion tracking of any kind. Of the 55 we confirmed were running ads, 23 of them, 41.8%, were advertising blind - full figures in our conversion tracking report.
In plumbing that gap is worse than it looks, because so much of the revenue arrives by phone. If calls are not tracked, most of the result is invisible by definition: the account can show clicks and spend and almost nothing else.
For a burst pipe, the homeowner often taps the first verified listing at the top of the page. That is why Local Services Ads carry a disproportionate share of plumbing demand: pay-per-lead, a verified badge, and placement above the regular ads.
Not every lead type is worth the same, though. A water heater replacement and a drain clearing should not share a bid, and some ZIP codes cost more to serve than they return - the mechanics are set out in setting LSA bids by service type and ZIP code.
After-hours calls are a real share of plumbing revenue, and they are the calls most likely to go to voicemail or an answering service that never reports back. If nobody answers, no bid strategy fixes it. We check answer rate and call duration by hour before touching budget in Google Ads, then schedule spend around the hours the phone is actually picked up.
Where an answering service books jobs overnight, those bookings need to reach the ad account too, or the campaigns that run at night will look worthless while quietly producing work.
If you want to see how we report results, read our case studies - platform-reported leads and closed business are shown separately. When you are ready, get in touch and we will start with a look at your current tracking.
