Remodelers who advertise mostly do measure: 19.6% of advertisers had no tracking. The real gap is what happens after the enquiry.
Remodelers who buy ads mostly do measure the enquiry. The problem is that the enquiry is only the start. The sale runs weeks to months through an in-home consultation, and tracking that stops at the form never learns which leads became projects.
Mostly, yes. We loaded 195 remodeling websites, and 134 of them, 68.7%, had no conversion tracking of any kind. But of the 46 we confirmed were running ads, only 9, 19.6%, were advertising blind - the second-best advertiser rate in our conversion tracking report.
So remodelers who buy ads generally record when a lead arrives. The gap in this trade is different, and it sits further down the funnel.
A remodel is sold in a consultation, not on a website. The form submission starts a process that can take weeks or months: a site visit, a design conversation, a proposal, financing, and finally a signed project. Tracking that fires at the enquiry and never again tells the account which leads arrived, never which ones became projects.
Automated bidding then optimises toward whatever produces the most enquiries, which is often the smallest work. Sending consultation-booked and project-sold events back from the CRM corrects that, as described in offline conversion imports versus form-fill bidding. The related decision of which jobs to stop chasing is covered in stop bidding for low-margin design-build jobs.
Google Ads catches homeowners searching for a specific project - a kitchen remodel, a bathroom conversion - when the decision is already forming. Those campaigns should be split by project type so the higher-value work keeps its budget.
Meta Ads work earlier, showing finished projects to homeowners in the right neighbourhoods long before they search, and retargeting across the long decision window that remodels take.
